Do the Ride Thing is a program designed to provide free, safe and sober rides home, to college students, in the Reno, Nevada area. Volunteers of the program, have the opportunity to help other students make responsible choices, by providing them a means to safe transportation, after they have been drinking. We are committed to keeping our peers, our school and our community safe.
Student volunteers, will provide free safe and sober rides, to their peers who are 21 and older. These drivers have completed and passed a background test. Riders will be delivered to a residential address with 5 miles of their campus.
When the vehicle arrives, the guest must provide a valid form of identification to verify the residential address. There are to be NO stops along the way. We are providing a safe ride HOME. ...not to get food, stop by another party, or deliver you from bar to bar. Please be respectful of our drivers time.
Guests must cooperate with the driver and navigator while receiving a ride. If a guest is not in the place of pick-up 5 minutes after estimated time of arrival, the driver will depart and the ride will be recorded as completed.
Riders agree to follow all Nevada State and Federal laws. Failure to follow the rules may result in call to emergency services and/or a suspension of ridership privileges.
**Passengers are required to enroll in the program, on their campus, prior to accessing this application.
